Tamil Nadu Introduces ‘Rover Devices’ to Enhance Accuracy in Land Surveys
Tamil Nadu has begun using advanced Rover devices worth ₹27 crore to improve the accuracy of land surveys. These devices help measure land boundaries with precision, reduce errors, and speed up field operations. They also support GIS, GPS, and digital mapping, benefiting officials during patta transfers, sub-division work, and disputes. Some districts were using outdated survey tools, causing delays and inaccuracies. With the new Rovers, the government aims to modernize land administration across all districts. A total of 454 Rover units have been purchased and distributed to survey departments for efficient and reliable land measurement.
